Default Boyu C Series Chiller C-250 1/6hp

Dear all ,
got hold of the Boyu Chiller C-series C-250 1/6HP this afternoon.

Some features of this chiller:
1) 1/6 HP , 220/110V , 50/60Hz suitable for 100-250l tank size
2) Microprocessor Temperature Controller
3) Air Inlet from Behind, Air exhaust from front, (ie, the heat radiator is situated in front instead.)
4) Adopted from manual " Adopts Piston Compressor and top quality pure Titanium Heat Exchanger, which have characters of low consumption , low noise, high refrigerant efficiency and strong resistance to corrosion."
5) Suitable for freshwater , saltwater .
"Adopted from manual"
6)Single-chip computer temperature control system , built-in RAM memory CMOS chip, and precise control temperature with electrical memory functions.
7) Labyrinth Titanium heat exchanger , quick refrigeration speed, anti corrosion.
8) Super silent top quality compressor.
9) Refrigerant R134A

"Overall impression"

The overall unit looks something like the ATX factor CPU casing that blends well into my living room.It definitely looks sleek compared to other china brands that are bulky. Water inlet and Outlet joint nuts seems to be made of durable plastic material that is a plus point when there is often harsh force exerted on it while screwing or unscrewing to do maintenance.
Surprisingly, the unit does sounds rather quiet with minimal to acceptable noise range ( slightly less noise than my previous Hailea 1/4HP chiller and CL-280). The built in thermostat reflect quite accurate reading , comparing it with my external thermostat;
Ext Thermostat reading / Chiller Thermostat Reading
28 degree celcius / 28.6 degree celcius
27 degree celcius / 27.5 degree celcius
Chiller comes with a compressor delay of 3 min to protect the compressor.

Performance:
I set up the unit hook to my Rio 20HF this afternoon at 5PM for a test run on my 2.5 footer and 2ft sump tank est total volume of 130l , unit takes est 1hr to chill water from 28 degrees to 26 degrees celcius.Currently I adjust it to 27 degree celcius setting.

Overall I am happy with this unit as a replacement for my Hailea chiller that was down last Sat after suffering a minor explosion sound in the compressor which render it non-functionable.

Pictures later in the night when I get hold of my camera.

I would like to reitierate that I am writing this review in my personal capacity to share my views to fellow reefer and have no invested interest in this product. ( Bro Nim75sg, borrow your words. )

there is 1/10 HP and 1/9 HP , if I remember , I was told 1/10 hp currently out of stock. Regarding pricing and availibility, please contact Tung Hu Aquarium , they are the distributor, not convenient for me to comment on price.

Tung Hu is part of Qian Hu right? I'll try to enquire from LFS then. Thanks!
