Default newbie - want to start mini marine tank

Hi bros & sis,

May I know if it is possible or wise to start a mini marine tank using either those 7" x 9" tanks or the DYMAX IQ3.

Also are there mini or nano chillers available as the water temp is ard 25 degrees (for my fw tank).

Its not advisable to keep fish in such a small tank. Most marine fish require at least a 1ft cube tank or bigger. The small space would cause stress.

Its possible to have such a small tank but it is not advisable as water parameters can fluctuate very easily, causing stress and death. Marine animals are used to stable water parameters due to the sheer size of the ocean and generally won't take well to sudden water parameter changes like rapid changes in temperature.

Many reefers started to use pico size tank. You should use IQ5 at least.

Just remember to change water frequently with salt mix not NSW as salt mix have better parameters for our small tank which cant afford much fluctuation.

Can be done but must be 'on the ball' and keep only max 2 small fishes and simple corals

I intend to keep probably max 5 of guppy size fish.....
If with rocks and corals would reduce to 1 pair but would be nice to have slugs, shrimps if tank or budget allows....after of if I can find the main expensive stuff like mini/nano chiller...

Any shops to recommend for low-end marine hardware ?
