redcross Urgent! Goldfish at dead oto and it is stuck in the mouth

Hi, my goldfish ate a dead oto and the oto is stuck in the goldfish's mouth. what should i do? i tried many methods but didnt manage to take the oto out. from my experience, otos have spikes on their fins, which makes them quite hard to dislodge. Does anyone know what to do?

I have encountered this as well some yrs back. But it was a dead cory. What i did was use a scissor and cut the dead cory into half and use a plier slowly remove it.

symmetrical halves is better . goldfish should never be com-ed with fishes that can fit into their mouths easily . i learned the hard way when my goldfish ate a tetra and chocked to death .

But the goldfish swallowed the oto quite a bit already, and it is a bit hard to cut it as i am scared i may also cut the goldfish.

My suggestion is to sedate your GF and use a tweezer to pull it out. Put yellow power, minimum amt would do to counter any laceration or minute cut during the "day operation". Quarantine the fish before introducing it back to your main tank.

I cut the OTO into pieces and removed the parts using Tweezers also.

No small fish that fits into a Goldfish mouth to be kept with the goldfish.
I learnt that the hard way also.
