Registration for GML Farm Visit/Seminar on Beneficial Bacteria on Sat, 19 Sep 2009
Dear members
Arowana Fanatics Club is delighted to organise our first Club event for AFC Ordinary Members - a farm visit and a seminar on Beneficial Bacteria on 19 September 2009 at GML Aquatics Pte Ltd, 10, Lim Chu Kang Lane 9A SINGAPORE 718878. Map click here. There will also be a Photography Competition (On-line) – details will be posted later, but the photo subject has to be from GML Aquatics captured on the day of this event. 3 prizes will be awarded to the top 3 photos, judged by our experts - amiidae, marshy, slooow and SoToNgMaN. If this is not enough to make you interested, there is another chance for you to win a prize. An on-line quiz will be held post event based on the seminar topic covered. Prizes will be awarded to 3 participants with all correct answers. In the event that we have more than 3 persons with all correct answers, 3 lucky winners will be drawn. All prizes are kindly sponsored by Rein-Biotech Services Pte Ltd. The programme for the day is as follows: 08:30 Attendance taking 08:45 Introduction of GML Aquatics Pte Ltd 09:00 Introduction of brooders and harvesting 10:00 Tour of farm, followed by Talk about arowana selection by breeder 11:30 Lunch 12:30 Talk on Beneficial Bacteria by Tim van den Broek, Technical Director, MICROBE-LIFT Topics include: • Manufacturing process of MICROBE-LIFT bacteria15:30 Q&A 16:00 Product & Arowana Sales for participants Note: The Organiser reserves the right to change the Programme without prior notice. Only 50 places are available and it is free for AFC Ordinary Members. Therefore, AFC members who registered and do not turn up will be "disciplined" by the AFC Committee. For AFC members' guests, S$20 per person will be charged. The deadline for registration is 1 September, 2359 Hr AF time. It will be on a first-come-first-served basis and AFC members and their guest/s will be given priority. However, please note that guest/s must be accompanied by AFC member and cannot be registered "through" AFC member. After this date/time, registration will be open to AF members. Mr Goh Kwang Beng, Managing Director of Ecological Asia, who is the representative for MICROLIFT products in Asia will also be joining us for the Seminar and will share his wealth of experience with us. He spent more than ten years in the design, operation, and control of biological systems as well as the function of microbes in natural aquatic environment and is an expert in the field of bioremediation technology; using Microbe-Lift/AquaClean microbes to rejuvenate and rehabilitate various non-performing aquatic and wastewater systems in a 100% natural manner. The projects he has successfully undertaken include: - Polluted river and lake bioremediation - Aquaculture pond efficiency enhancement - Municipal and industrial wastewater treatment systems - Others include anaerobic biogas digesters, septic tanks and odor controls In 2004,Mr Goh successfully lead a team of masters students from Kunming Technical University to rejuvenate the extremely polluted Xiba River in Kunming, China. He is currently working on the treatment of polluted rivers in the Philippines and Pakistan. Mr Goh is also very experienced in aquaculture pond rehabilitation using MicrobeLift bioremediation technology to maintain a clean pond environment, supporting faster growth rates, higher breeding density and lower mortality rate. Mr Goh has been invited to present on the biomediation approach for healthy, sustainable aquatic enviroments as well as the economical treatment of large water volumes for agriculture applications at several international conferences. He is also the Managing Director of BioAktiv Far East Pte Ltd. BioAktiv is a German proprietary technology using bio-resonance properties to stimulate the growth of specific microbe groups to enhance bioremediation in aquaculture and polluted lake and river rehabilitation. Ms Angeline Goh, Marketing and Consumer Relations Manager of Ecological Asia will also be there to answer questions that you may have. AFC Committee
