GF laid eggs!
Argh! My GF laid eggs this morning, and I don't know which ones did it.
I don't have a big enough tank to move the fishes away from the eggs. So I'm going to cover the eggs under a UGF filter plastic plate. I hope this will not damage the eggs in anyway. Anyone know how long it takes for the eggs to hatch? |

Hiyah, I screw up everything just now when I was putting in the UGF. See ah, I bought a small overhang filter, which I put a bag of AC in it to get rid of smell and unwanted chemical. Just now I remove it and sob, the AC's dust all fell into the tank. I dunno why this Resun brand AC like that one; last time I bought another brand and it has very little dust after the intial cleaning. Finish. Wan leow. All eggs sure die already. Sian ah! |

The eggs are white in colour... actually more like translucent. Some are round in shape, while many are like... flattened. I suspect the flattened ones are rotten eggs? None of the eggs are amber though. I've seen pics of amber coloured eggs which... I think belongs to aro. I might be wrong though. |

Boiboi,
I don't have my DC with me... but here's a pic I found. The eggs in my tank look like this.... but they don't stick together like a bunch of grapes; mine were individual and spilled all over the tank's bottom. Here's a link to an article on breeding GF. Too bad I should have read it and get ready earlier. Last edited by happybuddha; 21-02-2003 at 08:53 PM. |

For the record; none of the eggs hatched. Heng ah!
Hated this experience coz I'm totally unprepared for the spawn. It only created a lot of mess for me and stress the hell out of the other fishes when the tank's water went bad. Crossing my fingers and hope it won't happen again or next time must raise gay GF only. |
