Thanks for the encouragement. Any recommendations to improve? I am running a 4 feet sump for this setup. Is it a good idea to grow plants in the sump to remove nitrates?

i would not advise that as you will need quite alot of plants to remove a substational amount of nitrates and plants will require some form of lighting which could end up introducing algae in ur sump. frequent water changes is a more ideal method of removing nitrates
