Feb hc tank update..
http://www.arofanatics.com/members/k...18thfebupdate/
the hc has covered the entire foreground.. However, some algae has been spotted, the only none green plant is virtually dead.. and the lobeila cardinalis has grown a little too tall.. no time to trim and think of what i should put in place of the almost dead brown plant i have.. couldn't find a piece of wood that is nice and yet small enough to fit into that area.. hahaa.. any other comments pls? |

my tank specs:
size: 2x1x1 lights: 55w (~4.6wpg) fert dosage: increase 6ppm KNO3 daily, 1ml of seachem flourish every 2 days CO2: was using yeast in the past, (hc grew fine with yeast CO2.. but after a month or so bba attacked other slower growing plants.. eg nanas and crypts), last week changed to cylinder.. had to book in before it was fully set up... so my dad finished setting it up for me and set to 0.5 bps.. pH: Just booked out today... took the pH when the lights just started to be on... pH was as high as 7.6.. i was quite shocked.. because it was doing 0.5 bps... i quickly increased it to about 1.5-2 bps.. the measured pH was 6.8 after the light was off. Gravel: Lapis Base: JBL (dunno whether the HC tapped on it at all anot? their roots don't seem to go down deep) i think pH is not too important for HC... i used to be growing them in >pH7 when i was using yeast CO2 until last week, which is about for 2 months.. 2 months ago... it looked like the dec update in my gallery..
