Yeah this colour is hard to find. Most betta keepers opt for cleaner colours. This fish actually comes from a bi-colour giant geno male and a female carrying some imbellis genes. A hantam cross. I like to aim for fish with large size and good fins. I see a lot of fish getting smaller nowadays. Esp HMPKS. I will always love big fish with great shape, colours aside.

The caudal is indeed praise-worthy. The form of the body also has a tough "feel" to it. Great fish. Congratulations on being confident enough not to follow the crowd!
I think 1 or 2 more generations will clean away the wash and give you fantastic looking fish.

Yeah a bit of all layers. Aka Chapalang colours. Haha. One more spawn I think can get the red to almost go away. But then again you never know the outcome. Many times I spawn for form and finnage and big big size. Dunno why but strong good form fish always make me drool and then I can't help it and just preserve it or cross it with another one like it to see how far I can push it. Haha. Brings me lots of happiness either way. Thanks for the comments guys.
