protuding scale

Dear all,

I jst realise that my aro is having protuding scale about 5 scales at 1 side....it happen yesterday after i do a 40% water change, could it be cholrine burn??? and nw the aro is not eating since yesterday...what i am afraid is dropsy.....so what should i do nw?? i have added salt and the heater i should set at wat temp?? pls help??

I think yr fish is small....less than 8" right?
Last time I also have the same problem especially after water change.
It is due to sudden temperature dropped. On the heater and add salt, the fish will recover in abt 2 days time. Hope it helps.
Nowsaday after water change I on heater for one day to let the tempereatue settle.

Hi bro, thankx for helping...anyway my fish is about 11" now, those protuding scales start to close back liao after i on heater, add salt and add blackwater...wont dare to change soo much water at 1 go....btw whenever i look at those protuding scales, all my hair will stand....dunoe y oso...

Bro, I also just got the same problem like you this morning. Now I am using multicure on it. But I only using airstone on my tank now. I have stop my sump tank for the meantime. Anyone have more advice on this problem. My aro is about 19" )

bro apply multicure is good.......for mi i juz let my sump continue running,change wools to new n water change regulary 10% daily.....apply multicure again after 3days as ur sump wil lclear the medicine fast ") it will heal within a week for my case 3days ")

So that mean I can carry on my sump? This morning at 4am still ok but wake up at 10am and see scale like that. I recall back and think it due to BF which my aro eat. So the multicure will not kill the BB?

bro i dun tink they kill bb....for my tank 5x2x2.5.........I water change 20%,change all wools then pour multicure half bottle although lfs tell mi full bottle.....I on the sump juz let it run nx day water change little bit n on the 3rd day after water change again i pour 1/4 more of the multicure then my fish ok liao.......tat is wad i do la,hope i dun get zap if ppl dun agree lolz..........Effect can be seen on 3rd day after recover plz continue to monitor as scared come back again.........
