Fish before an Elephant
I never had a pet in my life and so why not start out with a fish before I get an elephant! So my first fish are 7 very shy tetras in a 10 gal tank. I have driftwood in there and some live plants on the left side for them to hide in.
Now I want to get some more fish and I was thinking about Mickey Mouse Platies. Does anyone have or had them or any other Plates? Are they shy? Will they kill? And also I have been thinking about getting one or 2 Upside down Catfish. What do you guys think? |

Upside down catfish will probably eat all your neons when it grew abit bigger...
Perhaps you can try some headstanders...colourful guppies like those in C328(beautiful ones there! ) or mollies like those in y618... I started on those fishes...Easy to care for.. Just some suggestions... |

Nope...aquarium salt is good for your fishes..they're a useful remedy for the prevention and treatment of several freshwater fish diseases. It assists in the healing of injuries, promotes formation of slime coating, improves gill function, reduces the uptake of nitrite, and is effective against some parasites...
However, some scaleless fishes are sensitive to salt.... |

Hi
If this is your first time keeping fishes, I would suggest that you do a read up first. You need to have good filtration and check if the fishes that you intend to keep are suitable in a community. You cant mix big fishes with small fishes. It would be fun once you know where you stand. Cheers Koolman |
