Guppy comm mates?

I'm sure this topic has been talked to death already, but havn't got a satisfactory answer to what I had in mind. So, maybe people here who comm their guppies with other fishes could share what works and what doesn't?

I was thinking of adding a couple of clown loaches and a school of tetras (neon or cardinal, not decided). Any advise?

My comm tank got platies, black molly, neon tetras, cardinal tetras, rasboras, big fat Discus, OTO, shrimps, rummy nose and they are all living happily under the same roof

The guppies usually the most active and first to any food during feeding

Hey there bro, i am keeping guppies together with neon tetras and i would say they live kick off quite well, sometimes i would even see them swimming tgt! I agree that when it comes to feeding guppies would usually be the first to sweep it out, i thought that was due to their nature cause they would always swim near the surface of the water as compared to tetras. Other than that, it shouldnt be a problem if u have ample food available to them in ur main comm tank of guppies and supposely, Tetras. I would show you a few photos of my guppies and tetras living tgt =))

Yeah, totally agree, they like guppies, are live bearers, which can give birth to many cute little mini versions of themselves (fries), and caring for this little young fellows makes this hobby even more pleasurable and interesting

currently i kept my guppies in a 5 ft planted with cardinal tetras,a few corydoras and some endlers.

cardinal tetras being the most in e tank.

they living peacefully, the planted will bring out the beauty in small fishes esp when they live together in a tank that looks like a natural habitat to them.

i met with one snakeskin guppy dead with torned fins, look like fighting with other guppies but i not sure.

Hi DrTech, you may want to consider white cloud mountain minnows as your guppies' tank mates. A few years back, I used to keep a group of 8 with my 3 guppies. When fries were born, they didn't even attempt to take a bite. And I read somewhere that these minnows won't even eat their own spawn even though they are egg-scatterers just like zebrafish. Besides, they look somewhat like neon tetras too... with the somewhat neon looking lateral line.

Interesting. I'll go look around and see. I'm not really concerned over protecting the fries The population explosion gets crazy after awhile...
