Justin new Mini project

Hi bros
Sad to say my 1 feet tank just got wipeout due to chemical inside and wiping out my cherrys and sakura. sad case
i know i am gona be scolded again. But no time for nagging . learn my lesson already . dont know where the fault might be but i suspect its the plants.

Get down to the main point
Few questions before i start
1. how to totally clear the chemical on my tank.
- i have just thrown away all my soil and plants.
- flter has been quaratine and never to be used.
- tank and light left .

2.now what i am scare is that the chemical might still be there.Any way to assure that they are all gone or can confirm that my tank is ready for shrimp keeping again . later buy all built swee swee liao then the chemical is there = throw money.

3. I hope to see some experienced people shedding some light as i encounter these chemicals for the 1st time. i remember a chemical smell on my water and i really shocked to wake up at 6 am to sonka my shrimps . disappointed in myself though. Experts? i have washed my tank throughly and my light.

4.Can my driftwood, rocks be reused?

5. Is there any way to do testing whether there are still chemicals in my tank.

This mini setup to be used again
1. mainly housing Fire red sakuras
2. 2 x 2kg of Gex green soil.
3. Main plants will be hairgrass.
4.My range of products
-Mosura mineral plus
-bio plus
-tonic
-food
-excel
-old sea mud powder
- API Zyme
5. Granite rocks to do land scaping .
6. filtration to be a Good HOF

For now it will be like this.
Before i really start on my project i hope my questions can be answered.

1) Leave your tank to dry or exposed to the sun.

2)Set-up your tank as usual and try cheap shrimps/less hardy shrimps to test whether if your tank is safe for shrimp keeping.

3) What is the question?

4) Yes,why not? Scrub and Rinse it with aged water just in case.

5) Use method 2.

For the tank, give it a good cleaning. For the dw and rocks, maybe you want to soak in boiling water for awhile.

You may want to use active carbon during your cycling process. Hopefully any residues left will be cleared by active carbon. Did you say somewhere that you are using 1ft tank? Can take the chance to upgrade to 2ft tank.

activated carbon can help in removing toxic and chemicals.. buy a good brand..

and yupps, i do agree a 2ft tank is easier to start off..

not sure if this works, but i have also heard of using bleach to clean and "reset" tanks..

1.wash with salt n warm water.
2.leave tank to dry,not direct sunlight.
3.wash again with salt n water, then clean in with normal water(kaisu) and dry it again.
4.throw everything what used to be in the tanks.start fresh new.better be safe than sorrry.(kaisu again)
5.if follow all of the above, should be no problem.just pray hard now, everything go smooth sailing.

i suspect its pesticides from plants again . i bought it at 4 sgd with the plant tightly sealed as i seen the plant with no snails and etc didnt know the content of the chemical was so heavy.

PS i suspect its from the plants no confirmations or assusations to anybody but myself
