URGENT HELP!!! Time is running out for my Aro!! :(
Hi All,
I had another thread earlier asking about protruding scales on my rtg comm... Now one of them is having very bad scale rot!! The scales came off the body and can see the flesh on the fish... there are even traces of blood on the poor aro... What should I do now?? Got get furan powder and treat all the fishes?? Or should I get multicure instead??? Urgent help needed here!!! Video of the aro is attached for better reference for possible illness http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewVpoI6iRbA |

Its in a comm?
I think you should isolate it to another tank, put melafix and try to use bio stress guard (Ocean Free) as water conditioner. Heater as well. Worst to the worst if you got no spare tank then partition the aro within the tank and add melafix into tank with some salt (if there's no rays) |

Just use melafix will do. Your case is most probably due to the aggression caused by another aro in there. I have a similar case like yours some time back and what I did is use a divider and seperate the injuried fish from the other aro and keep it this way till it's fully recovered.
Show you my injuried fish. It's far more worst than yours but it recover nicely with just simple dose of melafix in there. 08 Feb 2010 14 Feb 2010 03 March 2010 19 March 2010 |

Only recently after I added interpet 9 to cure suspected internal bacterial then all these symptons like scales protruding out and scales rotting started to show... You think befuran and multicure useful?? Or melafix will be a better choice?? |

I've transferred the super bad condition aro to a 1.5ft tank with befuran. Able to take a close up view on the scales.
The scales seemed like they are dissolving away... |

Basically, just put a partition and seperate them apart will do. The injuried fish is under stress already and by removing it out it's another form of stress which it need to undertake before even the treatment begin. Like I mentioned, a good dose of melafix and the fish will recover nicely as long there's no more continue of aggression on it. |

Bro, previously when the scales started to darken, I already added salt but did not add filter as my tank temperature has an average temp of 31 degrees.. Last night still quite ok. This morning
