Gas Bubble Disease...
Dear Moderator, i am going to start a thread on this Topic Gas Bubble Disease.Reason being is that i do believe alot of AF bro here doesn't have a good understanding of what actually caused GBD. The photos that i had attached below are found in the Aquamedic Board in AF and two of it are mine http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=423626. The photo for the red i believe is the initial stage of the GBD as bubbles can be found underneath the skin of the my aro head where it normally appear.i believe most of the AF bro still remeber Rozlan of the poor aro.GBD is not caused of poor water condition but wronge method of WC instead. what normally do during WC is pour in direct tap water then add in water conditioner...this method had been useful for me for the past 1 1/2year until this problem arise. It time for me to get a more powerful Air Pump, less amount of water change
Gas bubble disease "Gas Bubble Disease is caused by a sudden dramatic change in gas pressure in the aquarium. This can happen by changing too much water at one time or by adding cold water to the fish tank. Gas bubbles form in the fins and skin of the fish. The bubbles look like blisters and are very easy to see. The skin will crackle if you run your finger across it. If not treated in time, gas bubbles in the bloodstream will kill the fish. The treatment is to add alot of aeration to the aquarium. Lights should be left off to minimize stress. If you see alot of bubbles that have already popped, consider adding a general antibiotic to guard against secondary infection" Last edited by DarDar; 27-10-2010 at 02:27 PM. |

hey bro...i remembered an incident sometime back when someone posted a post regarding this problem.
So far it seems the cases i happen to see over the internet occurs on pearl arowanas and due to poor water condition(not sure if this is coincidental). however, i did remember something mod Vetduck mentioned about this being bacteria-related. Not sure if my memory failed me though. Would be good if any bros can clarify regarding this disease, if they are the same and if any known cure has been found |
