Q: White Claws
Hi all,
I'm a total newbie to Crayfish and have read the FAQ but I still cannot ID this crayfish that I have just bought for $8 (I think I got conned!) May I know why are its claws almost white? Please don't tell me they are dropping off? |

Btw, it's about 3.5 inch measured from tip of the tail to the tip of the claws.
Thanks in advance. |

Cherax sp. "Zebra", is the crayfish. The white claws should be normal colours.

Hi, like what bettasfantastic said, it's a Zebra cherax... Can get along quite well with others of the same species... The claws are not entirely white though... Usually pigmented with some light blue as well...

Oh, and don't worry about them falling off... But if they do (but eating well), no worries either cos they'll grow back after a few moults... But if they're not eating well and the claws drop off, good luck to you...

Hi CrayfishLover.
It's adapting very well to its 2-footer all by himself. And eating very well too. Have been feeding him Hikari FBW and pellets. Ya, you're right. The claws are not entirely white just about half of it. Might want to get a few more to accompany it but it's the last one at the shop. Have you seen any of its kind recently? TIA. |

C328 have many beautiful crayfishes like destructor, koonacs(Totally black) and those white types. They also have zebras like the one u currently own. U may want to check it out.
