Tank size???
Hey guys, newbie here. Just wanna ask is there any ideal sizes for the tanks for guppies. I feel that my current tank is too small as my female gave birth to quite a lot of fry few weeks back and it seems quite overcrowded and i also have about 50 neons inside. How big should a tank be for the fishes and how much is the market price?? thanks

50 neons ... wow ~ I suggest a 3ft tank. Big and comfortable ~ 2ft might be quite cramp for your 50 tetras together with your growing population of guppies

Tank
Hi, to me of course more fish means bigger tank. What I feel more important is to make the tank look nice with good landscaping so that can enjoy nature and de-stress while viewing the fishes.

the bigger the better and the more expensive it gets. you shouldnt mix neons with guppies, naturally they dont co exist in the same environment.

hmmm IMHO i think u shld separate them... cos guppies require harder water, whereas neon tetras thrive in very soft water. Im also afraid that theres a much higher possibility that your small fries might be snapped by your bullet speed neons...

i think u better measure again to be sure... with that kind of bio-load, i'm surprised that they're even still alive. if its really a 1ft tank, i would suggest that u upgrade to a 2 or even 3ft if budget and space allows and get a good filter for it. tetras can be nasty fin-nippers. not good for your guppies. |

i started small, with only 1ft i think and only one guppy. but then when my brother brought some 50 neons, it got really overcrowded. and i didn't expect my guppy to be pregnant until it gave birth to like 30+. seriously overcrowded, what should i do

Take away the females and concentrate on the males as they are the ones that would solved your problems of overcrowdings and over bios. |
