Default Mg media (use in CR) - Any recommendation

Hi,

Recently acquire a CR from a good bro. Would like to check if CR users has any recommendation of Mg media. I am now using the aquamedic Ca media that was given to me by the last owner.

I know that ARM Ca medium does supply mg but ARM primary function is to supply Ca, so I need a hard core Mg media to be use in my Cr. Read from the net that dolomite is the Mg media. Any brand to recommend?

My tank seems to be sucking alot of Mg. Mg would from frm 1300ppm to 1000ppm in a week or so.

Thanks alot - Rgds

Use CaribSea ARM as it contains Calcium, Magnesium, Carbonate, Strontium and Potassium.

Thanks Nim, the problem w ARM is that it does not dissolve completely. Visual inspection of the leftover media will not be a good indicator of the lifespan of the Ca media. Any other recommendations from any other bro.

Don't need to check visually at the media as the pH-Controller can provide you the indication when the media is exhausted or not otherwise confirm with a kH test for the effluent output lor.

Will try to post a pic of it. It a media that look like CA media whereby u add into ur CA reactor but the volume should not be more than 10% of ur CA media.
