Default Shrimps molding.

Hi all, would like to check when your shrimps mold. Do you remove the empty shell in your tank? Or you will just leave it inside the tank and let it slowly degrade? Thanks for helping.

The word is moult. not mold. And just leave the empty shells there. They will eat it. it provides them extra calcium.

Just leave it in the tank....your shrimps will feast on it....and it's good for them as it contain high calcium.

I usually removed them manually. Shrimp doesn't really consume them all. It will disintegrate over time. It depended very much on individual preference.

I removed them so that it will be easier for me to keep track of newly pregnant shrimp. That's meant when I saw the exoskeletion, there might be a chance that my shrimp is on pregnant.

I personally remove them too. I don't think they are really interested in eating them up as i regularly feed them. But pregnant shrimps molt too?

Pregnant shrimp should not mold. If it molds before shrimplets are being hatched, most likely all eggs would be gone. The unusual mold might cause by stress.
