Are fish diseases transferable to humans?

Should not be the case. Have been keeping fish as a hobby for 30 odd years but have not experienced any such problem. Of course, after handling water change should wash hands imagine throwing worms, froggies etc into the tank as feeder, touch the water then the eyes......
