Default Itch.....Bacteria or Parasite?

Itch / White Spots....

Are they caused by Bacteria? Or Parasites?

Ive looked through the web before starting this thread and Ive got mixed info on them. Some sites mentioned that they are caused by Bacteria while some says that its due to parasites.

One site mentions that it originates from a type of ICH bacteria. It can multiply alarmingly fast, and can flourish at body temperature 25°C from a single cell to 3000 over cells in a hour. Under high temperature, it can stop multiplying and even die.

Another site mentions this.
Freshwater Ich (Ichthyophthirius multifilis) is a ciliated protozoan that encysts under the epidermis of the fish; and, in its encysted condition, causes small white spots all over the fishes body and fins.

So which is which? Bacteria or Parasite?
