Bro,

Chip scales can occur in some ways.

1) Bad water condition
2) Too much tap water used without water conditioners added/ not enough water conditioner
3) Injury due to fight/jump
4) Infection on the scale after injury

Usually the cure is to keep the water "clean" and coral chips added. PH try not to drop below 7. Over the time the chipped scales will recover. Diet include calcium will help as well during the process.

As for infection, medication is needed and after the infection is gone. The same method apply.

Just sharing my method.
