Good type of filter

Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting a new filter.
I currently own an overhead filter but I think it clutters my tank too much...

So is there any filter that I can get that is relatively cheap? I already own a HOB Dolphin filter that's enough to filter around 5 gallons. I was thinking of using it in combination with a sponge filter/box filter
