Default Soil height calculations

here i give a rough guide for fellow hobbyist how to calculate soil height for your shrimp tank, be it for aquascaping or shrimp breeding.

the formula for soil height ( flat )will be as follow:

lets say you wants 5cm thickness of soil.

your tank is 60(l)x30(w)x35(h), use the 60(l)x30(w) as the base and multiply it with 5cm (h) and you will get 9 litres.

length of your tank x width of your tank x height of the soil you wants = total litres of soil needed.

the formula for soil height ( slope ) :

your tank is 60(l)x30(w)x35(h), you wants a 3cm thickness at the front and 7 cm thickness at the back. get the total litres for the 3 cm thickness first

60(l)x30(w) as the base and multiply it with 3cm (h) and you will get 5.4 litres ( base soil ).

difference between front and back soil height will be 7cm-3cm = 4cm

total soil needed for the slope = [60(l)x30(w)x4(h)] divide by 2 = 3.6 litres (slope soil)

finally total up the base soil and the slope soil and you will get 5.4l + 3.6L = 9 litres

hope this will help those who wants to set up a new shrimp tank.
