snails?
anyone here keep snails as a cleaner in their monster fish tanks? i would think snails would be pretty much left alone right? and they would help clear away algae and misc debris. or is this idea misguided? considering getting a few apple snails (or any other kind) for my tank, cos i got rays and thus cant keep ff, pleco, etc. plausible idea? and how many would i need to get to be of use.
my tank is 6x2.5x2, with 2 aros, 1 gar, 1 fire eel, 2 rays, ~15 tiger barbs. |

im not sure if pond snails will feed on algae.
i think they only target plants. maybe if you buy, buy the huge golden apple snails. maybe less chance of being eaten. anyway golden snails eat algae but the aglae will have teeth marks and they don't eat off the algae very clean. msic debris like? they don't eat shit btw.. they eat left over food. |
