Brand New RTG and Ray Story

Here are some of my brand new RTG and Ray sad Story:

Tank size: 4x2x2
Filteration: Overflow - Sump
Sump Size: 3x1.5x1.5, 4 compartment
First Motoro intro on late Feb, dead in 3 days (sad sad sad)
Tank cycled on late March
First RTG and another ray(dont know what species, bros pls clarify) intro again on mid of April.
Went for vacation after 3 days of RTG and Ray introduction, found out Aro chipped scales (serious) when came back from vacation. I was so sim tia when see my aro in such condition . Possibly cause is feeder fish bacteria infection, a lot of dead feeder fish which is not taken by aro or ray (ray like to hunt those feeder fish, after they die, he refuse to eat them and just leave them, and then he hunt another one (is it all ray do that?). Ray still in normal condition.
Sign of chipped scale (can refer on gallery): Shine all gone, tail and body become dark, scale chip out (about 60%), skin injured (kinda burned, about 30%), barbels face downward about 30deg, some of injured scale is no longer round shape (kinda uneven shape). Luckily she still swim like normal.
Immediate action taken: remove all dead feeder fish, remove all living feeder fish and WC 50%. (this is all I can do because its mid night when I came home)
Action taken on the following day: Buy medic (green liquid and japanese yellow powder), and 200W heater. Isolate the ray to my 2" tank. WC 4" tank for another 30%, added in green liquid medic until the tank water looked green, added in about 1/6 packet of yellow powder, added in about 1/2 kg of aqua salt, on the heater and set about 29 degC, stop feeding.
After a day or 2, the chipped scale starting to recover. Sign of recovering: scale replace to almost like original position, dark scar at those injured part, can see shine is improving. Still stop feeding.
Action taken after 4 days: WC 50% and added in green liquid medic. Added in 1/6 yellow powder again. Add about 100g salt. heater remains. This is the most worried period again for me because going vacation again for 3 days. After did all this, boh chap and went for the vacation.
After came back, found out that the aro recover even better, almost all shine is back, only left some real serious dark scar. Find out there is some tiny white worms cultivate (sienz). Then I log in AF and search forum history for cure. I decide to put in tiger barb to eat those damn white worms. Added in 4.
After the next day, start doing 50% WC daily basis for 5 days to remove medic, and then 20% W C daily basis for the following days up to now. The tank water still look a little bit greeny. White worms almost gone about 70% in the next day after intro tiger barbs. Now white worms may be left about 2%.
Right now she almost 90% recovered, barbels face upward 30deg, all shine back, and tail become red again, and most importantly the aro's elegance of hers is BACK!!!! Will gonna update the recovered pics again soon in the gallery.

Moral of the story: DO NOT ADD THOSE DAMN FEEDER FISH!!! IF REALLY WANNA ADD, USE THOSE MEDIC TO KILL BAC AND QUARANTEEN THEM FIRST BEFORE FEEDING THE ARO.

feeder fish must be quarantine before feeding.

For me, I will transfer the feeder into a pail of new tap water. wait for half an hour and feed the feeder one by one. Don't pour whole bag into the tank.

Yeah, I agree with you bro... I also do the same as you... Feeder fish are meant to be food... so if it's not feeding time, they shouldnt be left swimming in the tank with the aro... I realise that many bros like to pour the whole bag of feeder fish in the tank and let them swim with the aro... why ah?

haha thats the easiest way mah... and i pour the whole bag because i was going for a vacation for few days... those feeders are actually not for aro, its for my rays...
