Is motoro ray hardy?
I've been wanting to get a ray and I'm scared that it will die on me. Its like throwing a life away, not good. So I want shifus here to tell me whether Motoro Rays are easy for beginners and should I get a Adult or Pup?
Thanks bros. |

Yes, motoros are one of the hardier rays around. Get sizes above 5inches, they should be pretty stable. Ensure ray is feeding upon viewing before purchasing.
Other than that, pls do a search and read up on the care required for rays. |

Beef up your filtration with a sponge powerhead that sprays bubbles as well. You should be fine if the water quality is good. Read up on suitable tank mates and safety precautions first.

Nope, they aren't as hardy i would say. |

Had a motoro pair for abt 1yr and must say, rays are one of the best tank mates for the aro. Get bullied by aro but won't fight back, and they are also solid bottom dwellers that help improve aro's appetite as well as for clearing the food "crumbs"... I had a mantilla sp who is lagi solid, clear up everything that is edible (never tried the inedible though ) !!
Although my motoro pair are very civil with each other, the mantilla sp male became rather abrasive to the female motoro. I still wonder why ? Different breed ? |
