what type of sand and pump suitable for rays

just got a 6x2x2.5 tank planning to keep rays. i'm thinking of using those black sand, is it suitable for the rays? any type of sand to recommend?

also what type of pump for the sump is good for the filtration?

im using black sand + those normal planted tank sand in my tank with my MM inside. no problem.
