i havent a clue how much the electrics run, and i dont plan on aquiring one that soon. gonna cut my teeth on some simpler bivalves. but a small bedroom tank with a "clam" that flashes blue sparks in the night... whoo.
some say that skimmers are "too good" at cleaning the water of particles and the scallops slowly starve. thinking of using an algal scrubber.
also laken, how long have you had the electric flame? does it still flash? i've heard that they stop displaying that after a while in captivity.

I agree that skimmer will actually take out what the scallop needs so what I do is to fee the scallop directly using a syringe from liquidfry suck abit up and squeeze into the scallops mantle hmm electric yes there is but not that strong that lights up ur whole tank just some corner of it

Yup kinda late to save it though, thks for the advice...i feed my gigas with freeze dried planktons etc...so far thriving..

lol. never seen before that kinda scallop. the electrical bit looks pretty.
