dear weechou,

I am keeping my shrimps in a GEX Genoah tank measuring 90X90X90 mm. I realise shrimps are having some difficulty in the tank without aeration. Hence, I have introduced aeration. As for the huge water change, I am currently trying them out as one of the bros here suggested. Will be reporting my findings here, assuming my account do not get disabled. Hope this helps. The aged water I am using has been measured using a GEX alcohol in glass thermometer, Hanna pH meter (0-14, 0.1 pH, +/- 0.1 pH) and Hanna TDS meter (0-999 ppm, 1ppm, +/- 2% f.s.). I change water via a Thermo 25ml plastic syringe. Hope this helps.

bettafanatic, I agree with you. However, I see from marine keeping that they also recommend roughly the same, and now, there's a trend of keeping nano and pico tanks. I believe that keeping pico tanks is possible, however, disciplined husbandry is required.

Another forumer also keeps CRS in container. The CRS colour will not be so good. So it is better to keep shrimps in a bigger tank

not that sure what oxygen balls do to the water chemistry. another way can be using a small hof, however, I tried with dymax small hof, even at minimum setting, the flow a little too strong, havent tried breaking the flow with sponge yet. the flow to the surface should create enough aeration

dont use oxygen balls imo. it is hard to remove once u add them in. and it makes your tank slightly unnatural unless u are not going for a natural look.

imo, if u want aeration, HOF is good as it creates splashes. and many many tiny Oxygen bubbles will be generated.
however, that down plays on the growth of plants, as advised by a fellow forumer.
