Review: Bits & Tablets for FW Stingray, Pleco & Corydoras.

Nice and good:
- Very convenience container for feeding and storage.
- Water remain clear after feeding.

Suggestion:
- Would like to see english language on the label.
- Would be good to have smaller bits form for smaller fishes.
- Would like to see larger packaging, may be in the form of refill pack.

Fishes tried...

Fresh water stingray
I have a pair of adult stingrays. They are trained with dried foods. Female does not take dried foods as well as the male. For this product, both eat the tablet and bit form without problem. The male seem love it more than the female, will dash for it.

Flag tail
Since they are familiar with dried food in tablet form. Therefore, no surprise, all suck the tablet form non stop and eat the bit form readily.

Goldfish
All my goldfishes welcome any kind of foods. As usual, nothing left
behind. All dash and grap, non of the bits touch the bottom of the tank.

Guppies
All my guppies are on dried foods. They eat those small enough to fit into their mouth and nip at those bigger in size. Nothing left behind.

Shrimps
As usual, they will carry the bit and busy picking on it.

Discus
My discus are on any form of foods. They eat, but only those able to fit into their mouth. Bigger size are left behind.

Neon Tetras
My neon tetras are on dried food, those small bit form. For this food, they never touch. Maybe due to bit size, too big for them.

Arowana
My arowana does not take dried food at all since the day under my care. As usual, never touch this food at all.

So far never touch, I have tried placing tablet right in front of its mouth. No success.

Agreed with bro angelo on the above...

My fishes - arowanas, stingrays, rht, synodontis sp, albino pleco.
Diet - normally fed with MP and/or SW, no dried food before.

Tried this product with my fishes;
stingrays - only 1 out of 6 nibble on the pellets, but not really eating, juz chewing
arowanas, dun touch at all
rht & synodontis sp & albino pleco loves it ...

Product Review

Granular size
Fish on Trial: 1" to 5" pseudacanthicus and hypancistrus
Idea size for feeding. Bite size IMO.

Large size:
Fish on Trial: 8" to 14" pseudacanthicus
I find the size too big although the pleco can easy swallow the whole piece in a single suck. Most of the feeds, i will break the single pellets in 4 quarters. This is to ensure better digestion. To avoid bloated stomach due to indigestion, IMO.

Water quality after feeding
Tank 1
Tank size: 5x2.5x2.5ft
Filtration: 4.5x1.25ft sump tank
Pump: OR6500
WC: 70% once a week
Feeding regiment: Morning and Evening
No. of plecos/species/size: 9 pieces/pseudacanthicus/8-14"
Per feed: 20-30 tablets
Consume rate: max 2min clear out

Tank 2
Tank size: 2x1.5x1ft
Filtration: E2028
WC: 70% once a week
Feeding regiment: Morning and Evening
No. of plecos/species/size: 30+ pieces/pseudacanthicus/1-2"
Per feed: 2 teaspoon
Consume rate: feed mostly when the lights is off. Clear by next feed.

Does not cloud water even after massive feeding.

I tried both the bits & tablets.

I've a few fancy plecos in my tank - L128, Panaque maccus and Panaque albomaculatus. Other than plecos, I've also clown loaches inside.

Both bits & tablets are very well received by all fishes in my tank.

After dropping the food in my tank, the greedy clown loaches will be out from pipes very quickly and starts nibbling on all of them, no coaxing required.

My plecos will also come out soon after that. They'll wriggle out from their driftwood to the tablets for their meals, even with the lights ON. This behaviour wasn't observed with other food I tried before. They must had liked the bits and tablets very much! Now, I don't have to feed my plecos during lights off and I can view my plecos feeding in the open during daytime.

I notice the bits has a higher density than other brands of bits. The higher desity has an advantage as it will quickly sink down to the tank base after dropping into water. This helps my bottom dwellers reach their food faster and save me the hassle of pre-soaking the food before feeding. The fast sinking also keeps the food away from the overflow inlet into the sump. More food for my fishes and less waste in the sump!

I would readily recommend this type of bits and tablets to my fellow hobbyists who keeps bottom dwellers.
