If the tank is a little bigger, will looks nice and will not looks overcrowded. I agreed with the other bros here, install a proper filtration unit. No offense, just a two cent opinion.

An additional tips for you, keep your sponge filter in the tank while you run your new filter (either hang on or cannister). Running the two filters concurrently can help to prevent the "new tank syndrome" and allows your tank to be in the "cycled mode". You can remove the sponge filter once your new filter is cycled (preferably after 1.5 months, just to be safe)
Gd luck! |

Bro, IMHO, you might want to remove/shift some of the plants, as it covered the lighting of the whole tank and perhaps using OHF as one solution for your filtration system.
As mentioned by the bro here, your tank is over-populated. You will see some dead fishes in a short period. |

The tank is small and the plant are big. The proportion is somewhere incorrect.

Sometime less is more. Since your tank is small, just keep smaller fishes, lesser species and you will be surprise that it actually looks better.

Very nice concept. Very unique wood that very much provides the focal point by itself already. Maybe using frogbit as floating plant and narrow java fern tie to the wood or planting some small crypts may improve the outlook.
(if you need frogbits, can collect from me at Lavander FOC) A tank of this size, using a hang on filter should be sufficient. Keep us updated on the developments. Thanks. |
