no cycling , new tank will always cause deaths due to ammonia spikes ...

Long long long ago, I got this case of shrimps hiding towards the top of the tank refusing to go down, wondered why until i accidentally made my rain bar disturb the top layer of water. After that than they started going downwards.

Could be a case of lack of O2?

i also thinking of that. but adding airpump will cause surface aeration, means lost of co2. lost of co2 = death of plant = increase in ammonia?
