Sexing Africa cichlids

Hi cichlid lovers!

I got like 30 Africa cichlids but seems like all are males, any 1 knows how to id male n female other than method recommended by other website? I think it's call venting or other names?? Can we jus I'd base on the egg spots on their fin?

for most cichlids you can go by venting.. which is very accurate. but for some, physical traits such as shape and colouration are good enough tell tale signs.. or like u mention in some malawian cichlids they have egg spots on males. that can be a way too

Thanks for the info. Ok, issues one fish with 1 egg spots or 2 or 3 egg spots. Does the number of egg spots enable me to ?

eggs spot not accurate
venting is the best

but if they are holding u know they are females.

ksc, what do you meant by "holding"? How do you sex your fish other than venting??

Holding - In other words - 'pregnant'. But the term holding is used as when they spawn, the female will pick the eggs up and hold them in their mouth for a couple of weeks
