Default Can use this ikea shelf?

Hi there!
Does anyone know if this book shelf can withstand a GEX 600 tank weight? Weighing around less than 40kg.
Though the specs say each shelf can withstand 13kg...

Not sure if i can use this... Any advise please?

Its called expedit - length and height is 79cmx79cm.

I'll try to post the pic.

Is the GEX 600 tank your referring to the Glassterior 600 or Glassterior Slim 600?

The Glassterior 600 & Glassterior Slim 600 have capacities of 65 & 26 litres respectively. The weights when fully filled with freshwater is going to be around 65kg & 26kg respectively. The smaller tank is going to be twice as heavy as the maximum load of the shelf when fully loaded with water so I won't recommend using that on the shelf. It'll be even heavier if its a marine setup as saltwater is heavier than freshwater.

Most Ikea shelf can't support the weight. But I tried one with 2 inch thick top, and it is ok for a 2 feet tank.

I think most pine word which tend to be not so strong .

I rather go with ply wood, if not better still solid wood.
you can also try buy those solid wood piecs as stand to pop up the plain wood.

I did that to an existing cabinet which is ply wood at base to tank. Pop it up with 6 prices of solid wood bought from hardware shop.
