Yes indeed, sexes of hatchlings are control by temperature during incubation.

what is the ideal ratio of male to female? if they are kept in groups, will that affect the breeding?

Any filter is suitable, turtles are not so particulars to water perimeter , unlike fishes. A basking area with uvb lightings need to be provided for them. Normally for breeding , the sex ratio are 1 male to 2-3female. All my res are keep in groups, they seldom fights, but make sure Your tank/pond area is big enough to house them. Just don't over crowd them,make sure they are comfortable , And they will start producing. |
