The stream 1 is new product. Can go down to QH if you need it urgent. Cost about $10x before discount at AQRM 2013. The diff between stream and Hyra is the flow rate, design and the number of catriage.

Yea, hear that too and cost $15 for 1. Life span around 1 yrs before you need to replace a new one.

just called up QH. They mentioned that the flow rate of my pump does not actually affect the process... I hope they can confirm it here....

i will let my one run for a few days and watch.

so far the PH level is up. consistently at 7.5.
I am quite ok about it.

Just the nitriate stuff need to be watched....

Hi,

There is no efficiency drop in the new model of Hydra 30 filter although there is a change in the volume of water that it can support. The reason is because after receiving numerous feedback after the launch of the first version Hydra 30, we noticed that some of the hobbyist tank is keeping quite a high number of fish and the bio load are real high.

Therefore with this new version, we reduce the volume of water that it can support so that the efficiency of the filter can be maximise as we understand that lower volume will means smaller fish tank and lesser fish being kept in the tank.

Sorry that this has caused a confusion here.

Is it too fast for the catalyst to break down the nitrite?

Thank you
The flow rate will not affect the efficiency of the filter as the reaction time for the catalyst to react is nano second and it is times faster than UVC and Ozone filter.

Hydra 40 is an internal filter that allows you to place it in your tank that comes with bio sponge.

Hydra Stream is a adapter that require an additional pump to flush the water through it, just like a UVC unit and can support higher volume of water tank.

Yes, you may place it at the last compartment of your sumo tank.
