Yeah i find that white is very reflective. You may need to dwngrade lights if you dont want it to be too bright.

I think its possible. You can use a 4ft stick to try just to be sure.

Default Update after placement of white acrylic base

After i placed the white acrylic, i found that it can be quite glaring after i turn on my lights probably because the finishing of the acrylic which i chose was glossy. If it was matt, i think tje glare would be lower.

Anyway, i decided to do up an acrylic box to house my led light. Its 3mm thick and is tinted. Idea is to place led inside and the tinted acrylic would block out some of the lights. Result is satisfying. Not only is my tank less glaring now, the tinted acrylic somehow creates this wave like effect on the tank base. Of course one can also use tinted glass stickers as an alternative but i did the box out of convenience.

update on my white glossy acrylic... it really brightens up my tank.. used to be very dark becoz of black base. now i turn off 1 of my t5ho save electricity.



did it at dama.. damage ard $80...
overall satisfied. can also downgrade lightset to maybe low powered leds...

Nice bro ! U came in abit late . Occelatus found a Ivory colour not so glaring .

i know of the ivory before i go make.. but still prefer white glossy.. so maximum brightness.. good for my young gold arowana also.. my common pleco white markings come back after 2 days...

Wanna do a quick chk, any1 using white acrylic as base for red arowana? Personally feel its v nice but not sure whether is it suitable for red aro
