not sure about the urine part. my tank doesnt smell that bad for now.

the waste is huuuuuuuuuge. so do a daily check around the tank and remove it manually is recommended

and after hearing out bro phillipe's advice , here's what i did. Bottom is 1inch of leca and top is sphagnum + coco peat ( reason i chose coconut fiber/peat for the top most is that, it is the safest substrate for frogs as it can be pass out of their system easily, lesser chance of kena impaction, as compared to sphagnum moss. They are really clumsy predators. )

now im tempted to get that moss ginger recommended haha.

ps : those plants are temporary .

cheers!

Thanks guys!!

im setting up the bed that way so that if i want to plant some nice small ferns or mosses, when misting, the water will drip down to the leca, wont cause the bedding to be soggy which is bad for plant's roots and also heaven for bacteria.

Actually to plant some stuff, i can just leave it to be only sphagnum as the top, but it is really not safe for the frogs, not as easy to pass through their system if accidentally ingested. thus, the coco peat top, which is the safest substrate for clumsy tree frogs haha (cannot be digested, but can easily pass through their system )

cheers
