What is your pH level in the reactor?

Are you using ARM?

You may wish to note that if the salinity is less than 35ppt or a deficiency in magnesium will cause difficulties in acheiving the right calcium and alkalinity levels.

If the calcium level needs boosting, then I recommend using an additive such as calcium chloride. One gram of an anhydrous calcium chloride product (such as Turbo Calcium) will raise the calcium level by 360 ppm in 1 litre of water (95 ppm in 1 gallon of water).

If the alkalinity level needs boosting, then sodium bicarbonate can be used. One gram will raise the alkalinity by 12 mEq/L (34 dKH) in 1 litre of water (3.2 mEq/L (9 dKH) in 1 gallon of water).

In both cases, I recommend making changes slowly, rather than adding them all at once and contact Bro Sandman (Ken) as he had done a bulk order for these additives recently.
i am using rowalith C+ and maintaining my CR at ph 6.35 best for rowalith C+. so far it the the best i can get and stablize my ca 400 and dkh 7-8. so, since eveything is stabilize, i though it is time for me to raise my mg a little to the desire level and maintain it there using zeomag. say 1350ppm.

my salinity is maintain at 34ppt.

This is problem using Rowalith C+ and that's why I am using ARM instead which includes trace elements too.

Not expensive if you know the source as the damage for 2 x 8lb bottles was less than S$90.

Hi Loster,

I had the same problem as you on KH, but look at my parameters and u will realised it is different.

CA = 600ppm
MG = 1500ppm
KH = 6dkh
PH = 8.0

CA & MG used TM to measure
KH used Sera to measure
PH used Aquaz

tried Baking soda for 2 days and still no changed in KH.

I used Coralife salt, I think that's why my CA & MG are so high, if you want to boost ur MG, Coralife salt may solved your problem.

Anyone can help me?
