Nice. I also having the Marsilea Hirsuta in my tank. Notice they do much better in cold water. They really need longer time to grow in the tank. Try lesser and plant them further apart do make them look neat in the tank.

But cannot trim them because the moment you cut the leaf, the whole stalk will take ages to grow. Thus, I cannot get the right height and it seems to be quite messy...

Nonetheless, wish you luck and if you are able to get the carpet done well, I can learn from you.

Happy shrimping....
Heard that under dim light they will grow out 3-4 leaves per stalk.strong light only will have 1 leave

Yes it can prevent being sucked in. I add sponge cos I rather wash my sponge regularly then to open my canister to wash. The sponge will prevent bigger particles from being sucked in and block my canister. This is just what I think.

hmmm.....dilemma here. No light -> slow growth, however -> more leave?

So far, I on the lights about 7-8 hours a day in my 2 feet tank and they are growing quite well (w/o CO2 or fertilizer). Spreading along the floor, tripling its quantity in about 2 months..however, getting the height work out evenly to achieve a good looking carpet floor seems to be a big challenge. Can't really trim the height....

Maybe someone here can help to solve this situation...

Good idea...thinking of getting this for quite some time now but didn't know that it is available in Singapore. It is a lot more clean cut with this than stuffing sponge in between the gap.

I guess the sponge is still needed for maintenance reasons....

Happy Shrimping....

Ha ha you are right. I will have a hard time finding and netting them especially when they hide behind among the many plants

It's from Inwares you can check their posting in DIY forum. The LED is a T8 tube and they helped me modify a new Aquasonic LED 2ft T8 lightset to fit their T8 LED tube.
PMed you the cost

I got from Collions of Inwares LED Pte. Ltd. www.inleds.com. He helped me purchased a new Aquasonic T8 lighset which fits 1 T8 tube and modify it to fit his T8 LED tube. I chose the X-bright LED rather than Natural sun since it is brighter.
You can also pass him your T8 lightset for him to modify for a small fee or just get the T8 LED tube and do the modifications yourself.
Have VMed you more infomation.

LED is good, its not hot at all
