No lah. I mean when you throw 1 male and 1 female into a pond or aquarium and expect them to spawn as compared to putting like 20-30 arowanas into the same pond and let them find their own mate.

But the hand stripping thing sounds interesting.

Hi,

I am not too sure if question can still be asked.

I wish to ask this.

If a batch of arowanas(eg 10 XBs) is bought from his farm, but didn't grow to have the required characteristics (eg development of pearl, crossing of XB) after 1 or 2 years. What will be done by the farm?

Thank you.

cheers,
chuan

Hi Chuan

You can certainly ask this question. However, do bear in mind that Mr Derrick Goh is just one of the CITES breeders and therefore, he only represents himself and does not represent all breeders.

Am sure that every farm will have their own policy.

Crossbacks of recent times have taken a revolution change as demand for golden head and 6 lvl crossing as young as 6" and supply keeping up meeting such demand. Will our future generations be able to see the malayan gold (im not refering to branding names) again of the past, let alone the elusive Pahang gold?

Should WTT be discourage so that appreciation and selection of xb will be less biased?

Recent Aquarama was displayed with Helmet or golden head crossbacks during the competition, will that send a wrong signal to the general public that only helmet or golden head crossbacks then are considered as TOP notch fishes qualified for competition?

Cheers
