My tomato clown also does that leh...damn irritating cos he sweep the sand onto my corals. Its seems he wants more "clearing" for his/her dear anemone. And i find once he/she do that he/she become very territorial

pardon my ignorance, but I am not exactly sure how a jewel looks like. Any pics to share?

Does it need to sit on the sand? cuz it it does, sure the clown will sweep below too.

My tank 4" sandbed, already some parts exposed bottom glass.

This is how a jewel look like, the one with flower sticking out. Not necessary to be on sandbed, mine on a rock.

I think they are called "flowerpot" but the proper name is gorniopora. I have one (see my gallery) and my nemos last time enjoyed fooling around with it

i had some of these "flower pots" before. but if I am not mistaken, at night it will retract into its base rock correct? During these times, will the clownfish find somewhere else to bunk (for example the sandbed and do his bum wriggling thing)?

Anyway, worth a try.

Yup, when there is no light, it will retract. My clownfish will then sleep on top or go some other rock to sleep.
