Sorry to keep you guys waiting as I just finished conducting water changes for my giant tanks and my Pleco tank.

KETAPANG JUICE IS INDEED ACIDIC. PH 5!



To further on carry out another test I combine the ktp juice and the other bottle of tap water into a pet container to demonstrate the effect


As you can see the combined ktp juice + tap water the colour is lighter


The result is still acidic. The red is lighter.

Wow... Thanks for doing this experiment bro livingwall..
Btw since if mix just a bit of KTP juice also will lower pH...
Like that need not make the water darker to get lower pH, just a bit brown enough right?

thanks for sharing the result. i guess it's showing very acidic in your test due to the concentration level is high.

the test i did on mine tank with ktp normally shows lightly acidic only, from 6.5 to 7 ph, usually.

To summarize and to retaliate the following facts:

1. Ktp juice is a safe and natural way to lower your PH to the ideal PH for your Betta. The ideal PH value for Betta's water condition is 6.5 to 6.8 slightly acidic. The PH value for ktp juice is 5, therefore it is important that you exercise control and due care not to have put too thick ktp juice unless necessary to treat keyhole or to strengthen thinning of fins and scales. Just slightly brownish

2. Ktp juice is filled with Beneficial Tannins and FlavoNoids ( vitamin P). Can reduce the heavy metal content ( the key word here is reduce and not treat)

3. Ktp juice can also prevent fungus from forming on the eggs of the Betta.

4. Enhancing of natural colour and strengthening of scales.

Yes you are right. So we need to keep in mind not to put too much ktp juice

Thanks! Yup that is right. But also need to see on what circumstances, if u want to treat pinhole or strengthening of rays etc a darker concentration is needed. On a normal conditioning slightly brownish will do. What's more important is having good water conditioner with combination of additives such as vitamin complex and good aquarium salt. How you age your water is also important.

the PH of your concentrated ktp jiuce might even be lower than 5! just that the test kit cannot register anything lower than 5.. thanks for your experiment!
