It is the same for all the other questions that I ask him. Btw, the glass is 12mm thick with euro bracing.
The reason I am asking the questions here is I am trying to see what most ppl use given that you guys are all experienced in marine.
Thanks
Actually the guy is not wrong in saying it depends on you and what is your budget. But the basic things is that you must understand what each equipment does and how you are going to use them.In this hobby, there is no one straight perfect answer.IT DEPENDS ON YOU.

Thanks to all bros who offered their help. Just ordered my tank over the weekend. Finally settled for a square IOF compartment 8"x8". using 8mm glass. The tank itself is 12mm glass with euro bracing. Think I got a very good price for it...$480 inc transport.

I don't think there's any difference leh. As long as the glass thickness is correct, eurobracing, and for cabinet, the stand has to be strong(Chennai preferably).. I think it should be the same? Goh can verify?

Hi,

basically, marine & aro tank is very similar in terms of glass thickness, silicon , etc.

The diff is the water pressure & the weight the tank had to handle, which might require proper/better reinforcement during the construction of the tank.

Next, it the design of the overflow. Almost all or most aro tank comes with underflow. For marine, pple will do away with it due to the DSB they using or afraid tank inhabitants might stuck inbetween.

For aro tank, pple prefer to go for triangle IOS becos there will be no sharp edges. For marine, pple go for rectangle/ square to have more piping within. More sides for the water to overflow in.

Therefore, some alteration to the overflow & bracing is required.

This is just for the tank design. Of course, filteration will be diff.

Cheers!

Goh
