it does not have a start button like Eheim.....the timer is actually a small clock inside....if u put it next to your ear...you can hear the ticking sound. so by setting the timer...you are basically setting a clock!

as the clock starts to rotate....the clips that you clip onto the side will push against the small yellow button on the top....this will activate the feeder behind.

Basically...this is how this machine works...hope u get wat i mean.
