anyway back to the main topic, i think for fowlr if temperature below 30c should be okay..if there aren't large daily fluctuations. of course stocking needs to be lower cos of lower solubility of gases at higher temps. i'm new to the hobby as well, not sure if this is sound enuff advice
i thinking of setting up a 4ft fowlr also.. no $$ to buy chiller |

If getting a decent chiller then the startup cost quite xiong leh.... Also dunno how much heat the chiller will give out. If too hot then my mum is gonna make a lot of noise again... |

But during hot day fan cannot do much as it can only bring the temp to 29 to 30 deg.

Have just setup my 5x2x2 FOWLR w/o chiller. Temp is around 29-30deg but during hot day it shoot up to max 31 only. Fish is still doing fine.
Have consider a chiller before but too siong on pocket right now. Used to have fan on my 3ft FOWLR but the top-up is horrible. 3-4L per day. Have try to have more water movement on my 5ft so that temp don't go so high. |

I'm thinking a 2 feet without chiller or fan would the fish die? To my past experiences my fishes die out don't know due to what problem. Maybe I off the light at night.. would it cause problem?
Please advise. thanks |

Do you have a fan blowing across the top of the tank? |
