The last time i changed water was a few days ago only. 15% of it.

I added in Epsom and Aquarium during his treatment. What i suspect is that the problem arose in the 2FT tank while under treatment. Then i only noticed that something is wrong now when he is settled in his current 3 FT tank so i was wondering how i could ease the problem. But its true, i shouldn't rule out bad water conditions in my tank.

A few days ago i cleaned out my cannisters hose. It was filled with mushy whitish/yellowish stuff. The stuff was suspended in the hoses and did not look like fish waste to me. Anyones knows what this may be? Could it be a problem?
Those definitely look like erosions on the head. HITH disease as it is commonly known is usually predisposed by stress. Stress of poor water conditions is usually the main cause of HITH. I don't know how often you change water in the 2ft tank, but water in a smaller tank would foul up a lot quicker, hence regular partial water change is necessary. I hope you are no longer treating your aro with acriflavine... if so better change water & add activated carbon.

As for the treatment, you should move it back to it's original tank. Is it still eating & if so what are you feeding it? If still eating, then you should hit it with metronidazole, a very effective medication for head & lateral line erosions. Oral medication is more effective than a bath. Salt can be added at 0.1-0.3%. You don't really need Epsom salts at this moment. Add a heater at 30 degrees. You can get some metronidazole from me if you need some. You know where I am. Cheers.

Hi thanks for your reply... I was medicating it in a 2FT. After medication i straight away moved it back to the bigger tank. After that i did not carry out any medications already hence, don't need to add activated carbon. but recently discovered that his head is like that. i carry out water change atleast once a week for the current tank. No epsom salt in it as well. Does metronidazole so called harm bacteria? If it doesn't i'll probably get from you soon, if it does i guess i will wait a few days and see how it goes..

Metronidazole doesn't affect BB very much. If you are feeding the medication orally then there is no need to worry about BB in your filter. You may monitor for a few days & see. If appetite starts to decrease or erosions get bigger, better start medicating.

IMHO, even the medication required to treat our did damage our BBs I would rather go ahead with the medication and let our aro heal first. Then, follow by recultivating BBs.

Yup that's sensible thinking.

The lateral line is the sensory line on both sides of the fish. HITH is also known as head & lateral line erosions. This means that sores appear on head & also affects the lateral line.
