The media would have scratched the pH probe and caused the error, it happened to me when I dropped the probe into the sandbed.

ah, never never scratch the bulb of the probe or u can forget about using it anymore as it will most probably give u inconsistent readings.

So that excess carbonic acid in the effluent can be reacted again and would not be released into your water

Make sure you calibrate the probe prior to placing it the CR with pH7.0 and 10.0 buffer solution otherwise get wrong readings.

Also, what is the recommended pH for the CR media?

For ARM, the recommended pH is 7.0 but I set the pH controller at pH6.75 as it will kick-in/out the solenoid when the pH is 6.8 and 6.7 inside the effluent.

A little of topic but do you know where I'm able to get calibration liquids?
Need pH 7 and pH 4.

Hmmm. white does kind of look gd on that reactor.

you need just abit or alot? If abit then go to any LFS ( Freshwater or Marine) , common brands are Adec and some China ones. If you require fresh prepared and large qty, pm me.
