Agreed with Bro YSL. Just keep the water in good condition.
Monitor your PH bro.

Please look at it this way. U love ur aro? U will for sure inflict pain (if they feel it).
ur water must be really clean if not infected den even worst. Also stress the fish so much tat may not be good.
If in future chip scale (will recover most of the time) deep scratch, etc etc. u will just keep plucking?
I am against it, unless its for the health of the fish and not the viewing pleasure of whoever.

agree with the bro here and from my personal observation on my own aro that plucking out aro scales is damn painfull for them. however, isnt transmore suppose to be some form of anesthetic thing that can put aro to half sleep and make aro dont feel the pain or perhaps, minimize the pain sensation?

Imagine this
U are onanestheic, skin half ur skin on ur back coz its not so smooth.
clean it up and when u wake up. u have no skin on ur back. When the anesthetic wears off. wat happen?
Please transmore will wear off. if it doesnt means ur aro wears off liao coz forever slping.
U get the drift.

FYI me aro is about 14 inch and water parameter now is good.
One of my buddy plucked off 42 scales from his newly purchased SGEBXB. Cos the fish has the same severe chipped scales problem.

Great care to the aro was given. It survived.

I believe so but it had to be done! Some scales were already rotting. You know lar the care give by some LFS if next to nothing.

He did to procedure to save the fish. But this is an extreme case I would like to share with you. Aros are tougher that we think
