Sounds like something internal, if can swin straight when it wants to, it's not a spinal problem... sad to see such a quality aro in this state.

Any tankmates with the aro? Since can swim normal when the fish wants to...possible due to the flashing light that frighten it.
Colour still look good can can eat... can try few methods, 1) If without tankmates, add it a few to let him have some company. 2) Throw in some tiger barbs for the aro to chase. Hopefully not spine problem.. |

For now - this is wat i will do given the situation. - Assuming it is not a spinal problem caused by the jump and may be cause by chemical water/bateria - Intro active carbon to the tank - to absorb the harmful chemical - ensure anti chlorine/chormanine is used during water change - ensure water hardness - ensure water is clean and cool - regular water change - if you are having air tude attached to the power head to generate more aor bubbles (switch it off)- you do not want a bloated tummy during this time. Juz ensure there are enough disolve oxygen in the water by using good air stone. - swtich of heater and monitor the movement of gill plate/breathing monitor and keep us updated. this is a nice fisH! If permit - you may contact a fish vet. |

From what I can see....it's definitely an injury caused when the aro banged it's head hard on a surface. I used to have one which banged so hard against the top that it had it's head slang to the left and mine never get cured. I've sold it off very cheaply back to the farm after some months later.
Hope yours is only a temporary injury........ |

Hi,
From the pic shown, it seems that it suffering from early symptom of SBP. Try to maintain good water parameter, turn on heater 32deg, put some salts, keep water level low....... |
